    Quadruple Display Multiplex Common Cathode

    Description

    Display 7 Segments Red Multiplexed Common Cathode, used for the representation of numbers in many electronic devices, due largely to its simplicity.

    It is normally used with a BCD encoder, which can be the 74LS47 integrated circuit that activates a single pin of the encoder input, activates the corresponding outputs by showing the desired number.

    It is a multiplexed display, that is, its segments are internally connected in such a way that only those corresponding to the seven segments appear on the outside, plus the common of each of the digits that compose it, the multiplexing consists of turning on a single display, displaying the number and then turn it off, to turn on the display that follows. The trick of turning the display on and off at a high speed allows you to trick the human eye, and have the feeling that all the displays are energized at the same time, but in reality, if we see it in slow motion, the 7-segment anode displays or common cathode are making the following multiplexing sequence:
