74148 Decoder 3 to 8

74LS148 is an 8 to 3-line priority encoder with input priority decoding characteristics to ensure only the highest order data line is encoded. The LS147 encodes nine lines of data for BCD from four lines (8-4-2-1). The implicit decimal zero condition does not require any input condition since the zero is encoded when all nine data lines are at a high logic level. A cascade circuit (E1 enabled input and enable output E0) has been provided to allow octal expansion without the need for external circuits. For all types, the data inputs and outputs are active at the low logic level.
