Description
The Zener diode is the essential part of almost constant voltage regulators, regardless of whether there are large variations in the mains voltage, load resistance and temperature.
If a positive electrical voltage of the anode with respect to negative at the cathode (direct polarization) is applied to a zener diode, it takes the characteristics of a basic rectifier diode (most of cases), but if it is supplied with a positive electrical voltage of Cathode A negative in the anode (reverse polarization), the diode will maintain a constant tension. It does not act as a rectifier but as a voltage stabilizer.
