ICL8038 Signal Generator

The ICL8038 waveform generator is a monolithic integrated circuit capable of producing high sinusoidal, square, triangular, sawtooth, and pulse waveforms with a minimum of external components. The frequency (or repeat rate) can be selected externally from 0.001 Hz to more than 300 kHz using either resistors or capacitors, and the frequency and sweep modulation can be achieved with an external voltage. The ICL8038 is manufactured with advanced monolithic technology, the use of Schottky barrier diodes and thin film resistors, and the output is stable over a wide range of temperature and supply variations. These devices can be connected with the phase hitch loop circuit to reduce temperature drift to less than 250 ppm/°C.
