Description
The 555 is a highly stable device for generating precise time delays or swings. In the time delay operation mode, the time is precisely controlled by an external resistor and a capacitor. For stable operation such as an oscillator, the free operating frequency and duty cycle are precisely controlled with two external resistors and a capacitor. The circuit can be activated and reset in descending waveforms, and the output circuit can be connected or down to 200 mA or drive TTL circuits.
