SW520D Tilt Sensor
Description
It acts as a sensor that closes from a certain inclination. Formerly these sensors were constituted by locating a drop of mercury inside a glass ampoule, inside which two conductors were housed. After a certain inclination, the drop of mercury moved, closing the contact between both drivers.
Currently, for environmental reasons, almost all mercury sensors have been displaced by double-sphere TIlt sensors. There is a cylinder whose wall constitutes an electrical contact, while the other contact is located in the center of the base. By tilting the device sufficiently, both spheres constitute a bridge between both contacts, closing the circuit.
