74HC164 The CMOS integrated circuit is an 8-bit current register. The SN74HC164N is an 8-bit serial offset CMOS in parallel Output and Closed-Input Register and an asynchronous zero input (CLR). The closed series (A and B) inputs allow complete control over the input data, the minimum in any of the inputs inhibits the input of the new data and resets the first flip-flop to the low level in the next clock pulse (CLK). A high level input allows the other input, which then determines the state of the first flip-flop. The data on the serial inputs can be changed while CLK is high or low, provided that the minimum requirements set above are met. Synchronization occurs in the low to high level CLK transition.
