Description
A relay is an electromechanical device that allows us to switch a medium or high power power line through an electronic low power circuit. The main advantage and the reason why it is used enough in electronics is that the power line is completely isolated from the electronic part that controls the relay. That is, we can build an electronic circuit (a timer, a photocell, etc.) and, through a relay, control any type of device connected to the electrical network. To connect this relay with the control stage, it is necessary to use an intermediate driver between the control stage and the power stage (relay). The driver can be a 2N2222A transistor, a 4.7 kΩ resistor and a 1N4007 diode in flyback in parallel with the relay coil.
