Description
The HMC5883L module is a 3-axis magnetometer that you can use as a compass or digital compas. Its communication interface is I2C type so it can be connected to a wide range of digital systems. It has a plate voltage regulator, so it can be powered directly with 5V. Similarly, the I2C port is compatible with both 3.3V and 5V, without using an additional converter.
Its small size makes it ideal for projects such as drones (UAVs) and autonomous navigation systems. The sensor detects the strongest magnetic field, which is commonly the Earth's magnetic field, from which magnetic north can be found.
