BTA12 Triac 12Amp 600V

The triac is a three-terminal semiconductor device used to control the average current flow to a load, with the particularity that it leads in both directions and can be blocked by voltage inversion or by decreasing the current below the maintenance value. The triac can be fired regardless of the gate polarization, that is, by a positive or negative gate current.

When the triac leads, there is a very low resistance current flow path from one terminal to the other, depending on the polarity direction of the applied external voltage polarity.

The BTA12-600B is a 3-pin triac with non-rewinding insulation for alternating current (AC) switching, general purpose and can be used as an ON/OFF function. The BTA Triac series provides a voltage-insulated tongue using an internal ceramic pad.
