Optocoupler PC817 Transistor output NPN

The PC817B is a 1-channel 1-channel NPN transistor photo transistor optically coupled to a galium arsenide infrared emitting diode.
An optocoupler, also called optically coupled optoisolator or insulator, is an emission and reception device that functions as a switch activated by light emitted by an LED diode that saturates an optoelectronic component, usually in the form of a phototransistor or phototriac. In this way they are combined into a single semiconductor device, a photo transmitter and a photo receiver whose connection between them is optical. These elements are within an encapsulation that is usually of the DIP type. They are often used to electrically isolate very sensitive devices.
